    What an exceptionally beautiful place . The enchanting coast with inlets ,islands,and hills made beautiful with healthy vegetation that one feels is full of life . The city itself is a delight to see , with the walks by the sea ,and the law and order of the many many dwellings and buildings . It is especially poignant for us to see , as most of us from other countries have not seen the Japan that existed before the ravages of the Tsunami. It is heartbreaking to see what was lost and will never be the same again . We were aware of the horrible tragic loss of life , homes , family members , and incomes but not of this wonderful place that many inhabitants will remember always with feelings of grief and sorrow to the end of their lives.

    I can’t read the date on the video. It seems like all of the previous videos that I have seen on the 2011 quake and tsunami, the weather was overcast, and often snowy in Eastern Japan. Here the sun is shining, and the wave is behaving more like a “tidal bore” as a normal “king tide” flows into a low gradient stream near its mouth. People are gathered on bridges to view the event, instead of fleeing for their lives.

      Muhamad Ihsan Hayasa It may be going against a current but more likely, the waves are being slowed by friction with the walls and the river bed

      Mostly those who didn't go to evacuation place because they underestimate the power of tsunami. They didn't thought it's gonna be so powerful and so high.

    Seriously? There's just nothing in this video compared to the other locations. No clue why the heli stayed that long above the canal. Might be interesting for scientists to evaluate tsunami protection systems but not worth the storage space on YT to me.

    Мне кажется, что эти каналы хоть на какой то процент, но снизили мощь цунами и его разрушительную силу! Пусть и не на много, но всё же, несколько спасённых жизней. Хочется верить.

    Hmmm, wondering why this offshoot of the Tsunami traveled so long/far without sucking back the waters ahead and why the tsunami didn't overwhelm this small waterway, causing massive flooding and damage? Possibly other than building walls holding the water back, building multiple canals everywhere humans/livestock are found. Canals would probably all need to direct waters away from the others.

    • @boeman6702
      @boeman6702 5 лет назад +7

      @Lloyd Christmas
      Thats not the the case
      Why is he reporting something so insignificant?! Hell, there is a huge wave coming from the east that can reach 10 meters high/30 feet. And there are three of them! Why are you reporting a smaller wave when there are lives at stake? People watching this recording was probably thinking, "Oh, it's that small? Well, I don't have to evacuate then. Besides the news only said 3 meters high so I guess we are fine."
      You know what happened next? The tsunami destroyed everything 10 kilometers inland from Sendai, caused a malfunction to occur in Fukushima Nuclear Powerplant-which led to the evacuation of the entire city-, and sent waves 10 feet high all around the Pacific!
      Its not about, "Oh, humans are so vile! Wanting to see death and destruction!"
      Its about importance of information!
